Understanding branch codes

A branch code is the code that connects learners to your institution in the UE Learning Portal. The branch code is used when learner accounts are created.

Using branch codes

Branch codes are used when learners are added to the UE Learning Portal.

When learners are added by… How the branch code is used
Self-registration Learners enter the branch code when they self-register.
Bulk upload The branch code is included in the bulk user upload file.

Finding your branch code

  1. Sign in to your account on learn.ue.org.
  2. Go to the Admin Homepage.
  3. Find your institution’s branch code in the middle of the page.
  4. Copy the full code, including the dash, when using it in a bulk upload file.

Entering branch codes in bulk uploads

The Branch Code field is required when preparing a bulk upload file. Enter the full branch code in the Branch Code column.

Important: Copy and paste the full code, including the dash, into the Branch Code field of your bulk upload file.

Understanding branch code reporting impact

Branch codes affect whether learners are connected to your institution. If learners are not connected to your branch, they may not show up in your reports.

Alert: Your bulk upload will fail if you try to upload it without branch codes.
