Training Administrator Role and LMS Basics

Use this reference page to understand the Training Administrator role, common LMS responsibilities, and the key concepts you will use in the UE Learning Portal.

Key Point

Training Administrators manage learners, assign training, monitor completions, run reports, and support learners throughout the UE Learning Portal.

Understanding The Training Administrator Role

A Training Administrator (TA) manages training for an institution in the UE Learning Portal. Within the LMS, this role may also be called a Power User.

Training Administrators can:

  • Create and manage learner accounts
  • Assign courses and learning plans
  • Generate self-registration links
  • Create and manage groups and managers
  • Monitor learner progress and completion data
  • Run reports and dashboards
  • Support learners with access and enrollment issues

Note: Training Administrators cannot directly add or remove other Training Administrators, configure automations, or send emails through the UE Learning Portal.

Understanding User Roles

The UE Learning Portal includes several user roles. Each role has different permissions and responsibilities.

Role Primary Responsibilities
Learner Complete training and manage personal profile information.
Manager Manage team enrollments and review reporting for team members.
Limited Training Administrator View learners and run reports across the institution.
Training Administrator Manage users, enrollments, learning plans, reporting, and learner support.

Using The UE Learning Portal

The UE Learning Portal is where learners complete training and administrators manage users, enrollments, learning plans, reports, and related workflows.

The Learning Portal is located at learn.ue.org. This site is separate from ue.org, where you can access insurance and risk management resources.

Choosing Training And User Management Workflows

Most administrator workflows begin with two important decisions.

Choosing The Right Enrollment Method

Choosing The Right User Creation Method

Tip: Start with the simplest workflow that meets your needs. Use learning plans, bulk uploads, or automation only when your training program requires additional structure.

Knowing Common TA Responsibilities

Responsibility Examples
Managing Learners Creating accounts, updating profiles, resolving access issues, and managing statuses.
Assigning Training Assigning courses, learning plans, groups, and self-registration options.
Monitoring Training Running reports, reviewing completions, and monitoring participation.
Supporting Learners Helping learners access training and resolve enrollment issues.

Protecting Learner Data Quality

  • Confirm names and email addresses before creating users.
  • Search for existing accounts before creating a new learner.
  • Use the correct Branch Code.
  • Review assignments before launching training.
  • Monitor reports during active campaigns.

Important: Account, enrollment, and completion changes can affect reporting. Review details carefully before making bulk changes.
